In part one of the series, we will be comparing entries from Louisa May Alcott’s journal against Geraldine Brooks’ March, a modern novel that follows Little Women father-figure Reverend March, during the war. Discussions will be led by Dr. Randall Fuller, author of From Battlefields Rising: How the Civil War Transformed American Literature and professor at Drury University. Essential readings are available at the branch. Presented by the National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Library Association.
