Storytime for Preschoolers

When: Thursday, May 23, 2013 - 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Where: Claycomo at Programming Room

Join staff as they present exciting and unique storytimes involving a variety of tried & true activities. Literacy-rich books and stories are shared to assist in developing pre-reading skills. Other enrichments may include music and movement, fingerplays, puppets and crafts. This is an all-around fun program for preschoolers, ages 3-5 years.

Civil War Era Toys

When: Thursday, May 30, 2013 - 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Where: Claycomo at Programming Room

Children during the Civil War did not have as many toys as we do today. Take a look at some real Civil War era toys and learn about their history. Touch and handle real toys from the 1800s and hear stories about them. Then, make cornhusk and yarn dolls or soldiers to take home!

Write a Picture Book

When: Monday, June 03, 2013 - 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Where: Claycomo at Programming Room

Have you read hundreds of picture books to your children or students only to think, "I could have written that!" Well, now’s your chance. In this fast-paced introduction to writing the most elusive, most challenging book form of them all, you will learn a brief history of this art form, as well as how to read picture books as a writer. Please bring one of your all-time favorite published picture books to share with the group. This will be a four-week program.

Farm Show

Lisa Jorgensen presents this lively new puppet show about singing chickens, talking cows, a horse, a turtle, and a hare. Don't forget about the farmer, too!
